Arusha National Park is located just a short drive from the city of Arusha. Though smaller than many of Tanzania’s famous reserves, it offers a rich variety of landscapes and a peaceful safari experience. The park is dominated by the lush slopes of Mount Meru and features a mix of montane forests, open savannah and the shimmering Momella Lakes. Arusha National Park is home to giraffes, zebras, buffalo and a variety of primates, including black-and-white colobus monkeys. While it does not host large predators like lions, its calm environment makes it ideal for walking safaris and canoeing—offering a more intimate way to experience nature.
