Tarangire National Park
Located slightly off the main safari circuit and just about a 2 hours drive from Arusha city, Tarangire national park is a hidden gem in northern Tanzania known for its vast landscapes, ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds. The park is defined by the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts a high concentration of animals, especially during the dry season. Herds of elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes and buffalo gather along the river banks, while predators such as lions and leopards are never far behind. Also a paradise for bird lovers with over 500 bird species ranging from colorful bee-eaters to large raptors.
